Child play tents are a wonderful retreat for your kids to play and dream in. From gingerbread houses to ladybug tents, play tents these days are quite different than the sheets or blankets draped over tables & chairs that we used when we were young kids. Children love to have their own space where they are safe and can retreat to. Whether they are looking for quiet time, alone time, or just a place to read a book or play with dolls, play tents are a great option. Having a special private spot is important to kids because it allows them independence and their own play space.
Most playhouses are designed for indoor use. The material is not intended to hold up well against bad weather conditions, and the vibrant designs on them might fade out in the sun, wind, rain or even snow. Nevertheless, they are perfect in themed bedrooms. For example, if you have a little boy who loves fire engines, and his room has a fire engine bed with a Dalmatian clothes tree, he would love a fire station play house. These are mostly made for the bedroom or family room area and are easy set-up and can be stored away in a snap.
Boys and girls alike love this type of toy and they are readily available in the toy stores. They make great gifts and provide hours of entertainment. There are playhouses with safari or camouflaged themes. Others have dinosaurs, bees, ladybug, airplanes, fire stations and dollhouse themes. If there are siblings, look for some that are not gender specific, which are perfect for boys or girls. On the other hand, some units can be used outdoors and are made of materials that are effortlessly wiped clean and are waterproof just in case it rains. The outdoor styles can range from 6 foot tall teepees, perfect for multiple children, to wood cabins and so much more. The wood ones may even have a swing set attached, giving them even more play value. Look for playhouses that are designed for more than one child so they learn to interact with siblings or friends.
If you want something for your kid’s room, bed tents are a good option. They make a child’s bedroom even more special. They come in twin size or full sizes and are easy to use. Most have a lightweight frame support. If you purchase a bed tent make sure it is flame retardant. Bed tents provide a safe play area during the day and a cool fort at nighttime. Bed tents are entertaining for boys and girls and a welcome addition to a child’s playroom or bedroom. They are perfect for that stage when a child outgrows their afternoon nap, but you still want them to have some quiet time and relax. They can hang out in bed and read books under this awesome structure. They will enjoy that hour spent in their room and it will help to give parents a break during busy days!
